Persistent rain did not deter protesters from marching in Auckland on Saturday, in protest at recent attacks and escalation of violence in Gaza.
The march went from the town hall in Aotea Square, through central Auckland, to the US consulate, where during the rally, protesters hoisted the Palestinian flag on the temporarily empty US Consulate flagpole.
John Minto was also in doughty form, leading a communal shoe-hurl at the US Consulate in an internationally recognised gesture of contempt.
